Video update 22/07/2020 -

We’ve been working very hard to get the gym ready to welcome you back. There are still a few jobs to do but this video should give you an idea of how the gym now looks and some of the measures we have put in place to keep our gymnasts and coaches safe.

Reopening update 18/07/2020 -

All squad and development groups should have had their training times off their coaches for when we open on Monday 27th July. Next week we will be emailing recreational gymnasts parents to let you know what’s going to happen over the summer holidays regarding classes . We will be using the email addresses from your British Gymnastics accounts so please can you check they’ve got the right email address.

We look forward to seeing you all soon!

Coronavirus update - 10/07/2020

Great news! The gym is re-opening on Monday 27th July. We unfortunately cannot open how we were running before lockdown so we have been trying to work out the safest way to be able to operate and will let you know how it will happen ASAP . As always, thank you for your continued support. https://www.british-gymnastics.org/…/9168-government-announ…

Coronavirus update - 23/06/2020

As you may have seen today, unfortunately the government have not included indoor sport in the next phase of openings on July 4th. We just wanted to let you know that, as a club, we are already working really hard to get the club ready to open as soon as the government allow. Once we are able to open, we will need to phase the return of our gymnasts to ensure we can adapt our environment and delivery to the new safety requirements and health considerations, including social distancing.

For you, this may mean some changes to how you drop off and collect your children, what they can and can’t bring into gym, the timing of their sessions and the kind of activity they will be able to do. The safety of our gymnasts is our absolute priority so we would ask for your support and understanding when we are welcoming your child back to classes.

We will keep you all updated as we progress and let you know more specific details once the government give us a confirmed date. Thanks for your ongoing support as part of the UGC family.

Coronavirus update - 20/03/2020

It is with great sadness that we have to tell you that all Uttoxeter Gymnastics Club sessions have been cancelled after tonight’s session( Friday 20th March )for the foreseeable future. We will keep in touch with you and follow the advice of our governing bodies, health officials and the government as to when we can get back up and running.
As we have no idea what will happen and how long this will be for, please be patient with us, as we have over 1,200 gymnasts , which makes it impossible to answer everyone’s questions. Any updates we have will be posted on Facebook and the website.
We really need your support over the coming weeks/months and would love to see every single one of you back in the gym after this has blown over!
This is a very uncertain time for the country as a whole and especially for clubs and small businesses. There are so many unknowns for the club at present, how long will we remain closed? And what government support we will receive to pay rent, rates, wages, other costs etc. Our first priority is for the club to survive and to re-open safely as soon as possible. We will do everything in our powers to achieve this. Our initial thought ( until the position is clear ) is for fees paid in advance for the rest of this block will be carried forward to when we re-open. We will also look at the position on standing orders .
We would like to thank all of our members and staff for their support during this difficult time and hope that we can offer you more positive news as and when we have it .
We are working hard to get some videos sorted out, that your gymnasts can use at home .

Please look after each other during this difficult time .

Thank you for your ongoing support.

From
Uttoxeter Gymnastics Club xx

Coronavirus COVID-19 update -

Dear Parents,

With the emergence of the situation regarding Coronavirus across the UK, we wanted to confirm our current stance regarding Uttoxeter Gymnastics classes.

We are regularly checking advice from our national governing body British Gymnastics and from Public Health England.

Based on that advice, and our ongoing commitment to the safety of your children, we will be operating classes as normal until informed otherwise by Public Health England.

We have also implemented the following:

·        Posters are now in the changing rooms explaining the importance of hand washing and good hygiene.

·        Coaches are reminding gymnasts about good hygiene whenever they are going for drink breaks, food breaks or toilet visits

·        We are disinfecting the equipment, blocks and matting at the end of every day, ready for the next day’s classes

·        Coaches are washing their hands and using anti-bacterial gel during class change-overs

We would ask that you support the messages regarding hygiene and ensure gymnasts have washed their hands before starting gym.

We would also request that any families that may have travelled to zoned off areas or areas of high risk in the last 21 days to inform the club.  Details of these countries can be found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public#returning-travellers

If you are advised to self-isolate, please let the club know as we want to be able to take specific advice in this situation.

We would ask that people are sensible in their decision making and mindful of the community within the club and the importance of following NHS and government advice.  We want to keep all of your little people safe and having fun.

We will keep you informed of any changes in advice from the government.

If you have any specific questions or queries, please contact the Welfare team:

Kay Gillick – 07763 987096

Jane Fallows – 07708 294249

Please note, if you choose for your child to not attend, whilst we respect your decision, we will unfortunately not be able to refund your fees.

Thanks all

The Coaching Team

Uttoxeter Gymnastics Club

Feedback from judges as per below in italics.

"This is just a quick note to say how much Lynsey and myself enjoyed yesterday.  The competition was so relaxed and well organised that it was a pleasure to judge for you, and if you would like us to judge again in the future please let us know and if we're free we'll oblige.

I was so impressed with not only your facility and the gymnasts, but also with the number of coaches and young leaders your club has.  It says a lot for the way the club is organised and for the overall leadership.    Please pass on my congratulations to everyone involved in the organisation of the day.

(Sorry we had to rush off, but it was a good job we did as we had forgotten how bad the M6 is on a Sunday evening.   The journey in the morning took just over and hour but it took nearly 2 hours to get back.)

Again congratulations to Uttoxeter Gym Club for organising a well run day.

See you in due course.

Andy"
